2022 MailerLite Review

MailerLite recently released a new version of their platform and in this video, I’ll be sharing my first impressions and what you can expect when you sign up for MailerLite.

MailerLite Review: Is It Still Good?

Before we get into the review portion, I need to note that if you currently have a MailerLite account, you have the option to use both MailerLite Classic (the old version) and the new MailerLite.

But, if you’re just getting started, then you’ll automatically start on the new version of MailerLite.

So now that we’ve cleared that up, what does the new version bring?

Modern Interface

So essentially, the new version of MailerLite has a more modern dashboard interface. You can still see at a glance how many subscribers you have and how many new subscribers you’ve gained in a day and in a month. It’s also super easy to access tools for creating campaigns, forms, automations, and landing pages.

Regular And A/B Campaigns

As far as campaigns go, you can still send different types of campaigns such as regular campaigns and A/B campaigns, but if you want to set up RSS campaigns or have the ability to automatically resend campaigns, those options are no longer available on the free plan.

When it comes to creating campaigns, you now have the option to use the drag and drop interface where you can use different blocks to build out the content of your campaigns. This includes images, text blocks, buttons, dividers, surveys, and more.

It’s worth mentioning that you can also use a rich text editor that includes only a few basic blocks to build out your campaigns.

Sign Up Forms

When it comes to creating your sign up forms, you can create popup forms as well as embedded forms. There are a number of different templates to choose from and what’s nice about MailerLite forms is that you can add GDPR-privacy boxes, link to your privacy policy, and even let subscribers choose their interests.

Organizing Your Subscribers

And that brings me to organizing your subscribers. So MailerLite allows you to organize your subscribers into groups. This makes it very convenient to send the right email campaign to the right group of people and increase your clickthrough rates as well as your conversion rate.

You can also use those groups to create automations so for example when a subscriber joins a specific group, you can trigger an automation that’s tailored to their interests.

Email Marketing Automations

And speaking of automations, they’re easy to create. You can choose between several different triggers such as when someone fills out a form, clicks a link, gets added to a group, and more.

You can add emails in automations as well as use conditions so that your automation continues only if certain conditions are met, and more. It’s actually pretty amazing what MailerLite offers on their free plan so I’d definitely recommend checking it out if you’re just getting started.

MailerLite Pricing

So all in all, MailerLite offers tons of features and it’s easy to use. But how much does it cost? As I mentioned, they have a free plan that you can use for up to 1000 subscribers.

If you want access to some more advanced features, you’ll pay just $10/mo for 1000 subscribers which is super affordable.

Lead Magnet Tips

Okay, so now that I’ve covered MailerLite, I promised you a few tips about building your lead magnet.

So my #1 tip would be to keep your lead magnet super specific. You want it to solve one specific problem for one specific audience. The more specific it is, the better it will convert

My second tip would be to make sure that your optin is the natural first step towards your paid offers. After all, if you have a business, the purpose of your list is to have a database of qualified leads for your offers. That’s why your lead magnet is the first step towards getting them familiar with your services, group programs, courses, and other offers.

My last tip for your lead magnet is to make it easy to consume and implement. Give your subscribers a quick win. For example, if you’re a mindset coach, maybe your opt-in gift could be a list of affirmations or journaling questions. Or if you sell copywriting services, your opt-in could be 10 irresistible headline formulas.

Final Thoughts

So as you can see, MailerLite is a great option for getting started with your email list. But if you want to grow your list, you also need a lead magnet. If you still need a little help with creating your lead magnet, I have a Lead Magnet workbook that walks you through all of the steps necessary to create an irresistible lead magnet that attracts the right audience to your list so enter your name and email below to download it.
